Michelle – Founder & Managing Partner
My journey began in finance, but my true calling emerged during my Master’s when a project led me to write a business plan for a dog daycare center. This pivoted me from corporate life to the vibrant world of dog care. After nearly 18 years, I spend my days with dogs and amazing people who care for them. At Bark Avenue Daycamp, we aim to provide top-notch care for dogs in a fun, safe, and enriching environment while ensuring that clients and employees feel valued. Our small business has grown into a close-knit community, and I’m proud that three long-time employees are now partners. Together, we’re committed to making Bark Avenue Daycamp a place everyone loves.
Kelly – Partner & Director of Training
Having been raised with animals, I always knew I would work with pets. While studying Animal Science-Pre Veterinary Studies at the University of Illinois, I worked at Bark Avenue Daycamp, where I discovered my passion for dog training. After graduation, I attended an intensive dog training school in St. Louis, Missouri, and earned a Professional Dog Trainer certificate. I have trained various breeds for different purposes, from narcotic detection to field training. My approach to dog training focuses on understanding each dog’s unique personality and learning curve, ensuring a fun and effective experience for both dogs and their owners. I am passionate about educating dog owners and helping them understand their pets better
Marissa – Partner & Director of Operations
My love for animals began at a young age. Growing up surrounded by pets and helping rescue animals, I learned the importance of compassion, responsibility, and the special bond between humans and animals. This early passion led me to my dream job at Bark Avenue Daycamp, where I combine my love for dogs with my commitment to exceptional care. I strive to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for dogs, ensuring both pets and their families feel at ease. I enjoy building trust with each dog and their owner, working alongside a dedicated team to raise the standards of pet care. For me, dogs are family, and being part of their lives at Bark Avenue Daycamp is truly fulfilling.
Tim – Partner & Business Manager
Before becoming a partner at Bark Avenue Daycamp, I was a customer. A life-long animal lover and dog owner, I knew I had found a home here. I left my job as a Production Manager in manufacturing and started down my current path. The people that I work with are some of the best people I’ve ever had the fortune of meeting. Our clients are my kind of people. We share a love of dogs.
