Specialty Dog or Puppy Training Private Lessons
Walk this Way – Do you walk your dog or does your dog walk you? Walk This Way addresses a wide range of leash problems such as pulling, jumping, leash-biting and refusing to walk on leash. We will focus on dog training skills and techniques to reduce problematic leash behavior and increase self-control for a more successful and pleasant walk with your dog or puppy.
Crate Skills – Crate training can be easy and not make you feel like your putting your furry family member in “doggy jail”. We’ll teach your dog or puppy how to love their crate and feel comfortable in them, making it a positive experience.
Rock Solid Recall – Does your dog or puppy always come when called? How about when there are distractions? Training your dog or puppy to come when called is one of the most important skills you can teach, especially for their safety. You will learn through fun games and techniques with your dog or puppy to build a strong recall and reliable behavior despite distractions using positive reinforcement.
Dogs & Diapers – Does your family have a new baby or are you expecting? We can help prepare your dog or puppy before or after the arrival of your newest addition to your family. Your dog or puppy will learn effective techniques that will allow your dog to walk next to a stroller without pulling, lying down during feeds, changing times, baths, and more. Your dog or puppy should be able to “sit” and “stay” as we will incorporate further techniques in preparing your family and dog to manage interactions safely. Babies are encouraged to come to your lesson.
Canine Confidence – Did your furry family member come into your life after their puppy years? Are they fearful or anxious? We will concentrate on re-exposing your dog to various senses and situations to prevent/overcome fears. Learn how to build a better relationship with your dog and decrease anxiety while they learn to be more confident in themselves and the world around them.
Leash Reactivity –If your dog or puppy is leash reactive in the presence of other dogs by lunging, barking, growling, snapping or whining, we can help. Our dog trainer will work with you and your dog or puppy to improve leash skills by walking calmly without reactive behavior, proper handling skills, positive behavior modification, and reading canine behavior.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) – Strengthen your dog and handler relationship by increasing communication skills and practicing the behaviors required to pass the AKC’s 10-step CGC test.
