Introducing Ashley: Our New Dog Trainer at Bark Avenue

My passion for working with animals started at a young age as I grew up taking care of a variety of animals throughout my life. After I graduated high school, I was not exactly sure what I wanted to do, but I determined that what I loved was working in that industry. To start out my career and gain some knowledge in dog behavior, I began working at Bark Avenue, as this was where my dog went to daycare. I have been grateful ever since! I have worked at Bark Avenue for over three years now as a daycare technician and discovered that my passion is training. I enjoy seeing all the different dogs, learning about their breeds, and discovering how each of their personalities is so different from one another. Being able to work with a variety of dogs in daycare made me realize how much I enjoy working with them each and every day, and this helped me to realize that I wanted to become a trainer. Working with each individual dog, learning their behavior, experiencing their personality, and being able to see the capabilities of a dog’s learning through training from beginning to end is very rewarding to be a part of. While working at Bark Avenue, I took classes and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Animal Health & Behavior which helped me to learn a plethora of information about animals, including a focus on dog behavior. Along with behavior, my classes also specialized in their nutrition, training and care, husbandry, genetics, anatomy and physiology, technical skills, and the evolution of their behavior. After spending several years learning about dog behavior, it helped to solidify my passion of becoming a dog trainer. A year into my apprenticeship learning under Kelly, the head trainer, my knowledge has expanded even further and continues to grow each day. I look forward to my future at Bark Avenue and cannot wait to meet new clients, work with their dogs, and become the best dog trainer that I can be.

We are excited to see how Ashley’s passion and expertise will make a lasting impact on both our clients and their dogs. With a strong foundation in canine behavior and a genuine commitment to each dog’s success, she’s fully prepared to take on any training challenge. We’re excited to see the positive transformations she’ll help bring about for you and your dog at Bark Avenue.
